Behind The Scenes of Jingle Ball

To get herself in the mood to write a Christmas story in July, KJ listened to the Straight No Chaser Christmas album nonstop while writing and editing this story. Though not a fan of listening to music while writing, the tunes helped set the tone in her mind that she was looking to achieve: the perfect winter holiday party.

Through the whole first draft of the story, our heroine didn’t have a name! KJ wasn’t sure what name to give her, as it didn’t come to her easily like the rest of the character names did. Regina almost escaped without a name entirely until KJ finally opened a phone book to a random page, closed her eyes and pointed. And when KJ decided that Harry just wasn’t going to work for the heroine, she went with the next name on the list. Regina.
